Done Finally!

Done with all my tasks for this blog finally! Only 4 more left for the other blog and I will be able to go to bed. I am really getting exhausted. My youngest son woke up early in the morning and usually we go back to bed right after I feed him but this morning we weren't able to go back to sleep because I had some errands that needed to be done! So as soon as I finish the last 4 tasks, I am hitting the hay for sure!

Hiring a Security Guard Firm to Protect Your Business

If you are the manager or owner of a business, then you are not unfamiliar to the many questions and worries that come up on a daily basis. Aside from the regular stresses that your job as the boss entail, such as employee conflicts and meeting productivity goals, the safety and protection of your employees and the business itself is most likely a top priority. Obviously the kind of business you run will determine much of how secure the premise needs to be. For example, a construction site requires different security and monitoring than a retail store. The hours in which you operate also makes a difference in when the business is vulnerable. There are other aspects of security that play a major role in keeping everything and everyone safe. That is why a company that specializes in providing a security guard in San Jose should be at the top of your list of options to provide safety. A security guard firm knows what makes a business safe and how to keep it that way.

Matching Business Needs with Security Needs

The type of company that you run makes a big impact on the type of security that needs to be provided. As stated above, a construction site may need constant patrolling if expensive building supplies and other equipment are left on site after all the employees have gone home at the end of the day. A retail store will probably need much less surveillance if a quality alarm system and locking mechanisms are already utilized. Office buildings also probably need much less monitoring if the work done during the day is not too sensitive in nature. As you can see, there are many different factors that need to be determined to decide on the type of service you may need.

Location, Location, Location

Just like when owning a home, the location of the property make s a big difference in how safe everything is as well. Operating the business on the outskirts of town allows for a bigger property and probably less money to pay for it. Unfortunately, setting up shop away from the city may also mean that there are less people who drive by that may deter possible criminals. On the flip side, having your business in a bigger city provides more foot traffic and sales opportunities, while at the same time leaving your business vulnerable after the doors have been locked for the night. These are all things that a security guard in San Jose will be trained to look at and respond accordingly to.

Sauteed Kale

Kale has always been one of my favorite greens since I came here in American over 8 years ago. I am gonna be honest, the first time I had seen Kales I did not think I would ever like it. It's texture can be intimidating and I can understand those who do not want to try it. But sometimes, we got to be open-minded and try things because we would never know if we would like it or not unless we try it.

Anyway, the first time I have ever tasted Kale I immediately liked it! It's didn't taste nothing like it's appearance! I guess it depends on how you cook it but my favorite way to cook it is by sauteeing it with bacon and onions. We actually got the recipe from "Emeril's Live" and it is very easy to fix!

What you need:

2-3 pieces of Bacon (Sliced in tiny pieces)
Chopped onions
Kales
1 Beef bullion Cube + 1/2 cup of water to make beef broth

Fry bacon slices in a pan until it is brown. Add onions, cook until it is transparent. Add Kales and beef broth, cover until Kale is cook!

That is all you have to do to enjoy this very nutritious and yummy greens! So simple and easy to fix!

Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Funeral Home

There are so many emotions surrounding the loss of a loved one, which can make it hard to think straight about the things that need to happen. One of the biggest things you need to be planning is the funeral. Planning a funeral can be super hard, which is why it's so important for you to find a quality funeral home to assist you. This post will list some questions you should be asking funeral homes before you make a final decision.

How many people can the chapel of the funeral home hold? This can be a tricky question sometimes, as different funeral homes often have many different seating arrangements. Typically, the funeral home will have one or two large chapels in which large bodies of people can gather. They'll also have an option to have adjoining rooms open to each other in order to create a more homely feel to the funeral. Discuss your options with the funeral home director to see which option works best for you and your family.
Always ask about handicap access, especially when an older crowd is involved. You'll want to make sure all of your guests are comfortable and able to function normally during the funeral.

Where is the funeral home located? This becomes important when you have many people not familiar with the area coming to the funeral. A prominent funeral home should be easily accessible from freeways and major roads.
Does the funeral home offer any sort of printed or multimedia options? Videos and slide show presentations are becoming more and more popular to show during funerals and can add a very nice, personal touch to the services. Many times, the funeral home will also print programs and guest books for you as well.

Is the funeral home decorated well and is it cheerful? A funeral home is a very important event. As such, the decor of the funeral home should be bright and tasteful, which hopefully mirrors the actual funeral services. If the funeral home is drab and dull, it might not be the best environment in which to hold services.

These questions will help you narrow down your choices among all the funeral homes that are out there and help you have the best funeral service you can get without all the stress that goes behind it.

When Should Your Child Begin Visiting the Family Dentist?

Getting your child started on a healthy dental care plan from an early age is essential to their overall health and wellness. Choosing a caring, friendly family dentist in Little Rock will ensure that your child has no fears or misconceptions about the dentist later in life.

Most dentists recommend bringing your child in for their initial visit before their first birthday or when their first teeth begin to erupt. From that point on, routine checkups and cleanings are required once every six months, or as often as your dentist recommends.

How a Dentist Can Help

An experienced family dentist can check your child’s teeth, mouth, and gums for signs of potential problems. They will ensure that your child’s teeth are growing in healthy and strong.  Along with helping to catch and correct any dental problems early on, regularly scheduled appointments with the dentist can actually help to prevent future dental issues.

An experienced dentist can also serve as a trusted source of information if you have questions regarding your child’s dental health or unhealthy oral habits, such as thumb sucking or bottle mouth. They can also advise you on the proper brushing technique for your child and can even recommend the right toothbrush and toothpaste.

Is Your Child Nervous?

While most family dentists know what it takes to help put a child’s mind at ease during the appointment, some children may feel particularly nervous or anxious about an upcoming appointment. If this is the case for your child, it may be advisable to choose a dentist who offers sedation dentistry services. This will allow your child to enjoy a state of deep relaxation while the dentist completes any necessary dental work.

Your Chosen Dentist for Life

Most family dentists offer a comprehensive selection of dental services, including general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, preventive dentistry, and more. This means that you can continue using your chosen family dentist in Little Rock for life. Many dentists can even treat all members of your family in one day and can adjust your dental treatment plan to match your changing dental needs for life.

Finishing My Pending Tasks Online!

Well, I still have about 6 tasks to go and I will be done! It is almost 12:30 in the morning here in our area and I am still wide awake! I am getting really sleepy but can't go to bed yet until I am done with my pending tasks online! It will be due tomorrow and I sure would hate to see these tasks to go to waste. Good thing that I don't have to come up with something to write because it is already pre-written! All I have to do is copy and paste it on my blogs! Not bad at all for 5 bucks!

Dentist Tips on Stopping Cavities from Forming Further

It’s always horrifying when you detect a cavity in your teeth. You can usually tell when you experience pain or tingling when you eat sweets or hot or cold foods. You may also notice a cavity when you spot small holes or see discoloration on a tooth. Bad breath is commonly linked with cavities as well because of the odor that comes with tooth decay. Usually a trip to the general dentist in Delray Beach may be inevitable in these cases. However, there are a few things you can do to prevent the cavity from increasing and developing further.

What to Eat

It’s commonly known that consuming too many sugary foods can lead to tooth decay and cavities. Hard candies that stick to your teeth are especially deadly. When you do eat sugar-filled treats, be sure to brush and floss shortly after. If you love chewing on gum, purchase a brand that contains xylitol, a sugar alternative. These gums are actually good for preventing tooth decay and fixing cavities, so don’t hesitate to chew on these. Green tea, taken in a glass daily, can be beneficial to your teeth. This type of tea contains high levels of fluorine and prevents and treats tooth cavities by reducing bacteria in the mouth and plaque accumulation, which are responsible for gum disease and cavities. You can even use green tea as a mouthwash. Another tip is to chew on licorice root. This herb is surprisingly tasty and blocks the growth of bacteria linked to cavity formations. Last, be sure to eat unsweetened yogurt. Eating calcium-rich treats every day will strengthen your teeth and eliminate germs, bacteria, and yeast that lead to cavities.

How to Care for Your Teeth

If you properly care for your teeth, you may prevent cavities from spreading. If your cavity is in the early stages, you can even reverse the process. Remember to brush and floss following every meal and during the morning and nighttime, before bed. Use fluoride toothpaste. Fluoride is a useful ingredient because it keeps the teeth safe from decay. Apply mouthwash twice a day for best results. If a cavity is still present, be sure to visit your general dentist in Delray Beach.

Current Debates in the Dental World

There are two commandments when it comes to oral hygiene that seem to have been written in stone from the beginning of time: brush twice daily and floss at least once a day. Although no Appleton dentist would dare to question this time-honored edict, many dental professionals do tend to question some of the details regarding these two practices. Two of the most widely debated issues are whether or not fluoridated dental care products actually make a difference in oral health, and the second is whether the is any merit to spending $100 or more on a fancy electric toothbrush. This article will discuss briefly the pros and cons of each point.

Fluoridated Oral Care

Fluoride is generally known in the dental world to aid in the formation and preservation of a tooth’s surface enamel. Because this information is so well known, city and state governments have actually started inserting trace amounts of fluoride into city water supplies to help with the dental health of the communities they serve. Because fluoride reacts with minerals in your saliva, ingesting it through the water supply makes a lot of sense in aiding its function. The problem is that nearly every toothpaste in America claims to contain fluoride to aid in the prevention of cavities. In reality, most people actually spit and rinse after brushing, washing away any of the fluoride that might have benefited them. Because fluoride can be toxic if ingested in large quantities, many people wonder if there is actually a benefit to supplying it through toothpaste in addition to water, or if it just increases the odds of accidental overdose.

Electric Toothbrush

If you ask any Appleton dentist whether there is a benefit to using an electric toothbrush to a standard one, you may be surprised at the varying answers that you get. Although electric toothbrushes seem like they should work better, in reality they may not have much added benefit. The problem with most peoples brushing routines is that they don’t brush long enough. Most dentists recommend that you brush for at least two minutes per session to ensure that you get all of the decay causing material out of your mouth. Electric toothbrushes often have timers that will aid in this, but aside from that many dentists don’t see that spending a fortune on a toothbrush is a worthwhile investment in dental health.

Who Should Choose Sedation Dentistry?

You have probably heard of sedation dentistry, but did you know that in most cases you are actually awake? There are many different forms of sedation dentistry for many different types of people. If you are putting off receiving necessary dental work because of fear of the dentist, find a sedation dentist in Austin to help you get the care you need without all of the anxiety.

Children

Many children are nervous about going to the dentist from a very young age. It is understandable. There are new tools, new tastes, and new smells that surround them. If your child is nervous about the dentist, you may consider using sedation dentistry. The use of nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as “happy gas,” will calm down a child, but it will not completely put the child to sleep. It is gives the child a calming sensation that will help them shake off the fear of the dentist.

People with a Lot of Dental Work

If you have a lot of dental work, sedation dentistry may be for you. Getting a lot of dental work can be uncomfortable because of the length of treatment. You can choose to use a sedative as minor as nitrous oxide, or you can also choose to be completely asleep through the entire process. You can discuss with your dentist the different options regarding sedation so that you can get the dental work that you need.

Those with Dentist Anxiety

Sedation dentistry is designed for people that have anxiety toward the dentist. There are thousands of people that choose to go years without going to the dentist just because of fear. The problem is that many of these people have pressing dental issues that will only get worse without proper dental care. There are many different levels of sedation dentistry, so there isn’t one person that can’t make a bi-yearly trip to the dentist.
A sedation dentist in Austin can make it possible for everyone to receive proper dental care. Children who are nervous about the dentist can have their fears calmed. People that have a lot of dental issues can have a lot of work done at once, and those with a lot of anxiety can finally have their fears put as ease.

Dentists Weigh in on Teeth Bleaching Methods

Teeth bleaching has become a very popular treatment among both old and young alike. Many teeth-bleaching kits can be purchased over the counter at your local grocery or drug store; however, how good are these readily available kits for your teeth? Although it might seem like the inexpensive option, using over-the-counter teeth-bleaching kits can actually take a harsh toll on your teeth. If you’re interested in having your teeth bleached but you’re not sure what options are available to you, then listen up. Dentists from all over the country have weighed in—from Sacramento dentists to South Carolina dentists—and their outlook in unanimous: Go to a professional. Here’s why you should always go to a professional to have your teeth whitened and stay away from over-the-counter products.

The Effects of OTC Products

Although over-the-counter products may be the cheaper option, they can be extremely harmful for your teeth. Most OTC products contain harsh chemicals that weaken the enamel of your teeth, resulting in expensive dental work, such as fillings and root canals. Additionally, many of these readily available products don’t deliver fantastic results; usually, three or four treatments are needed to achieve a true whitening affect. So although you may be tempted to purchase one of these over-the-counter products, steer clear. Instead, have a professional whiten your teeth for you. Many dentists have seen first-hand the effects that these harsh products can have on teeth. From crippling enamel to causing severe cavities and potential root canals, it’s simply just not worth the risk to invest in an over-the-counter teeth-whitening kit. In the long run, you won’t be saving money by purchasing an over-the-counter kit; you’ll end up spending more money on the dental complications that they can cause!

Professional Laser Bleaching Dental Procedures

Whether they’re Sacramento dentists or South Carolina dentists, most dentists agree that professional laser bleaching is the best way to go for a complete and satisfactory teeth-whitening treatment. Dependable and effective, laser bleaching is a popular choice for men and women of all ages. Don’t put your teeth at risk; make sure that you have your teeth bleached by a professional.

His Other Hydroponic System

Photos above is what my husband's other hydroponic system looks like. I tell you, he worked hard on making this things! Some people may find this very unusual and perhaps weird but this would really help us tremendously in terms of getting free food pretty much all year, even in winter time since it is inside a greenhouse.

As you can see above, there are plants already planted in those holes! Each of those holes will have individual vegetables. In fact, he's already got something planted is most of the holes, probably just about 12 holes left that are still empty, but it won't be long. He's already got some plants sprouted for it. He is just waiting for them to be big enough to fit in the hole! Ahhhh I can't wait to have freshly harvested veggies all year long!

Three Tips to Hiring Executive Protection

As a high-profile executive, proper security is essential. Fortunately, local Miami executive protection services often offer what you need to function safely and efficiently.
If you’re hiring executive protection for the first time, consider the following three tips.

1. Ask a Lot of Questions

When interviewing security officers, ask a lot of questions up front. You want to make sure you’re all on the same page about what the job entails, how you live your day-to-day life, and what you’re looking for from a security detail.
For example, if you work around a lot of media, you’ll want to know your team is comfortable with it. Or, if you travel frequently, you’ll need to know your team has passports. Asking these questions early on ensures there won’t be hang-ups further down the road.

2. Highlight Research and Organization

In the view of some security officers, it’s unfortunate that there isn’t much chance to whip out a gun and act like Bruce Willis. However, that’s actually the ideal situation for you. When interviewing potential security officers, highlight where the real bulk of responsibility lies: in research and organization.
It may sound dull, but a good security team boasts great research skills and organizational abilities. This creates a slick flow of information from the top to the bottom, and if anything does go wrong, communication will be efficient.

3. Create an Information Network

Information is essential for any security detail, and it often helps if you start the ball rolling by creating an information network protective services can consult. Include information on executive assistants, event organizers, and even hotel personnel if needed. If you’ve worked closely with the police department in the past, include the names of your most trusted officers.
Security staff can consult these individuals to create timelines and schedules for everyone in the office or at an event. That’s vital for efficient, timely protection.
Hiring Protection

If you’re in the market for Miami executive protection, don’t settle for second best. Your security is vital to creating a functional, successful company. Ask for plenty of recommendations, research the organization through the Better Business Bureau, and conduct interviews with every potential member of your security detail.

By doing this, you’ll ensure no stones are left unturned in your quest for corporate security.

How to Lower Your Insurance Cost

Insurance is one of those things that you don’t think you need until you really need it. But, of course, that’s the point of insurance. You may never be able to predict when you’ll get into a car accident, but you definitely want to be protected when it happens. At the end of the day, insurance is worth the financial expense. Of course, there are ways to decrease that expense. By visiting an insurance agency in Lansing, you can learn how to protect your car and your body without spending an arm and a leg.

Paying Less for Premiums

If you think that you are paying way too high a price for your auto insurance, there are steps that you can take which will decrease the amount you have to pay each month for protection. Some of these steps are related to your automobile itself. Some of them are related to your lifestyle and your living situation. For example, insurance premiums tend to go down when you graduate college. The same applies to people who get married. Many insurance providers cite statistics which state that a person who is married and has a college degree is less likely to engage in risky behavior. Even the natural process of aging is on your side. Many drivers receive a discount on their insurance when they turn 21 and when they turn 25. Some insurance brokers even offer a discount when a person turns 29. As for your car, there is plenty that you can do to make it less costly to insure. For example, installing an anti-theft device such as a car alarm is viewed very favorably by many insurance brokers. Also, if you drive it less and decrease your average mileage, insurance brokers will give you a break because there are fewer opportunities for you to get into a wreck. Try taking the bus or riding a bike to work or to run errands and see how low your monthly rate gets.

Talk to a Broker

When you’re ready to insure your car or renew your policy, it’s important to set an appointment with a broker where you can sit down and go over every variable that might be a factor in the pricing of your premium. Many times, insurance brokers can rework a policy so that you end up paying much less than you expected. There are also many brokers who will help you compare prices between different providers, so that you know that you’re getting the best deal possible. If you’re looking to protect yourself, your car, and the other motorists on the road with you, visit an insurance agency in Lansing today.

First Time I Had Beets

Tonight for supper was the very first time I ever had Beets! We had a lot of leftover from our supposedly juice diet for about 2 weeks but only lasted basically for 3 days. My husband bought cases of fresh vegetables so he can save some money rather than buying it in packs at the grocery store! So we are stuck with all these vegetables and I've been fixing stir-fries for almost a week so these vegetables don't go to waste!

Anyway, there were still about 4 or 5 pieces of fresh beets left and they needed to be cooked because they were getting soft. My husband looked up on the internet the best way to fix it and steaming it was on top. I steamed it and it was actually very good! Even my picky-eater oldest son really liked it!

Top Procedures in Cosmetic Dentistry

A perfected smile can help you boost your self-confidence. Today, modern advances in dentistry have enabled dentists to perform more advanced procedures and offer better services to patients to help them get the smile they have always wanted. Whether you are looking for white teeth or healthier gums, cosmetic dentistry in Milwaukee offers a wealth of benefits to help you achieve the look you have been dreaming about. Here are some of the most common procedures in cosmetic dentistry.

Whitening Your Teeth

Everyone wants a whiter smile. No one wants to flash their teeth and greet people with discolored and stained teeth. Years of improper dental hygiene or bad habits can take its toll on your teeth. Some people experience discoloration because of tea and coffee stains. Others get stains because of smoking or using other tobacco products. Some people simply have discolored teeth. Whatever the reason, there is a solution for you to help you get the pearly white smile you want. A cosmetic dentist can create bleach trays that perfectly fit your teeth. You will also get a bleach solution that lightens your teeth, and you should see results very quickly.
The Benefit of Dental Implants

Another common treatment is dental implants. This type of treatment involves an easy procedure in which a dentist plants implants directly into the bone. You will be able to enjoy the benefits of strong, natural-looking teeth without having to worry about them falling out.

Getting Cosmetic Gum Surgery

Another option is cosmetic gum surgery. This is a common cosmetic dental procedure that is commonly used to treat gum recession. Many people experience receding gum lines because of years of brushing their teeth too forcefully or because of gum disease or the natural aging process. The receding gum line is noticeable when people smile because their teeth will look quite a bit longer. If you have gum recession, then you should consider cosmetic gum surgery. A dentist will graft gum tissue from another area of your mouth to rebuild the area that has thinned over time. You can learn more about cosmetic dentistry in Milwaukee and find the right treatment to help you achieve the smile you have always wanted.

Tips for Losing Weight Consistently with Juice and Exercise

People may try to sell you on their “special secret” for losing weight quickly and easily. Though you may not want to admit it, there is no secret for an easy way. Losing weight takes both discipline and motivation. If you want it bad enough and you go about it the smart way, you will be able to lose weight and keep it away. With proper exercise and the help of things like Xango juice to keep your diet healthy, you’ll be beach body ready in no time at all.

Physical Exercise

Physical exercise helps weight loss. If you do not usually exercise, it is okay to start out slow and build up the amount that you do. As long as you get moving, you are doing something. Be sure to incorporate three things into your exercise regime in order to stay balanced: weightlifting, cardio, and flexibility. Do about 30 minutes of cardio a day and weightlifting a few times a week. Separate out muscle groups to rest them for a day or two after they have been exercised. Always stretch after exercise to increase flexibility and keep muscles loose. You may find it easier to stick to your plan if you find a buddy to do this with or make a commitment to a gym or sport. If you find some form of exercise you actually enjoy, you will find yourself looking forward to it each day.

Diet

Though physical exercise is important, diet is actually 80%of weight loss. It can also be very difficult. Try to keep a balanced diet and stay away from sugary things. Avoid carbohydrates and anything that is generally fattening. Put more fruits and vegetables into your diet products such as Xango juice can help accomplish this easier. Try to get protein into your diet without eating too much fatty meat; this can be done by eating eggs and nuts and drinking low-fat milk. Find out the healthy number of calories a person of your weight and age should be eating each day and try to stick to the number of calories. You will find yourself eating less if you drink a lot more water during the day.

Water Spinach Is Sprouting Good!

I just love the fact that the water spinach seeds that I sprouted over a week ago are starting to sprout. Yesterday when I checked, there was only one that has sprouted, today when I checked earlier, another one has sprouted! I am so excited about it! Water Spinach or what we call "Kang Kong" in the Philippines, is one of my favorite greens since I was still living in the Philippines! And the fact that I am able to grow some in my own garden just thrills me to death! Can't wait to harvest them when they get bigger and gives me lots of greens!

How to Decide to Arrange Wall Decorations

Decorating a wall in a room can be an exciting project when you have fun photos and artwork to put up. This process can also be frustrating if you can’t decide how to lay out these pieces. After all, there are an unlimited number of arrangements you can create. The question is, which one is the one that would look best? Also, which layout would correspond with the theme you’re going for? For tips and suggestions for making it through this project, look over these techniques and ideas from www.jpocker.com.
Where to Place Pieces

First of all, decide where you want to hang up the art. Pick a wall that you think would make a great focal point for a room. For instance, if you want the fireplace to be the first thing a viewer looks upon, set up the art on this surface or along the walls to the side. Don’t be afraid to add more embellishments to the walls in a room. They can be scattered across a space as long as there is 1 main focal point. As for the artwork you put up, use one favorite or major piece as a center point and arrange other pieces to go around it. This composition will create balance and make the room look professional and attractive.
Testing and Hanging

Part of decorating a wall is experimenting with the best arrangements. First, measure the dimensions of the wall. Tape a few pieces of newspaper together to achieve the same measurements as the wall. Lay this sheet out on the floor and place your wall decorations over them so you can experiment with arrangements. When you’ve come up with a pleasing layout, use a pencil to trace the outlines of each art piece, photo frame, plate, and other decoration. Make a mark for where you want to place the nail for each piece. Then set the large spread of newspaper against the wall and secure it in place using tape. Then proceed to hammer in the nails over the appropriate marks. Take off the newspaper and start hanging up pictures. Your end product should be to your liking. Before Buying a Car, Understand the Current Market

When it comes time to buy a new vehicle, one of the most important things you can do is understand the current market for the car, truck, SUV, or van you are interested in buying. From getting pre-approved for a loan to doing your research by visiting sites such as www.GMCACADIAKANSASCITY.com, there are several ways you can learn the market before buying your new vehicle.
Importance of Learning the Market

You might wonder why it is important to learn about the current market before buying your car. After all, you have very little say in the price of the car, right? Not necessarily. Although most dealerships offer pretty much the same features, prices, and bonus items, there is still quite a bit of wiggle room when talking to a sales person. Information is power. When you know what you are talking about, you have the ability to negotiate for better deals.Do the homework before you start looking for a car, truck, SUV, or van. Find out information such as the following:

What different features are commonly found on a particular make and model

What price the features are generally sold for by other businesses

What warranties are currently being offered

What government incentives or programs might be available

What interest rates the banks or credit unions are offering
Places to Check

When learning the market, there are many places you can check and things you can do that will help you gain the information you are seeking. For example, try doing some of the following items:

Get pre-approved for an auto loan. Take that information with you to the dealership, and see if they can match or beat the rate.

Test drive vehicles at several different dealerships and visit with the sales reps without the intention to buy at that particular time.

Visit sites such as www.GMCACADIAKANSASCITY.com to learn about their inventory, specials, and incentives.

Contact local vendors or businesses to see how much they would charge for their services to upgrade your car. For example, maybe you could purchase a better stereo system elsewhere for less money. Use that information to negotiate a better deal for a basic stereo system installed by the dealership.

Annual Rummage Sale At Church

On Friday, it is when we will set up the tents and everything outside to be ready for the next day. I hope we will make a lot of money this year like we did last year!

My Seeds Are Sprouting

Over a week ago I sowed a bunch of seeds into our square foot garden and yesterday when I checked it, most of the seeds have sprouted and that's including my water spinach or what we call "Kang Kong" in Filipino. I am so excited for this specific vegetable, it taste so good when it is sauteed with garlic and soy sauce!

I asked my husband if he can put one plant in hydroponics and he said yes. We did it in hydroponics one time and it did really well. So I am pretty sure that it will do good again if we put one plant in hydroponic!

Homeowner Responsibilities Include Proper Sewage Maintenance and Foundation Repair

Owning a home is an unfulfilled dream for many people. It can take the better part of a lifetime for the dream to become reality. When it does, there are many unfamiliar chores and responsibilities for new homeowners. Home construction companies build houses on the best ground they can possibly find. Unfortunately, the available ground isn’t always the most stable. Both heat and cold can cause the earth around your home’s foundation to shift. This can cause the foundational structure of any home to become unstable and begin to break down. Luckily there are companies that offer Houston foundation repair.

Troubling Events for Your Foundation

You may notice a few strange occurrences going on as a result of a foundation problem. The walls of your home may begin to fracture slowly. Cracks in walls are a good sign that you have a foundation problem. Check out your doors. Are they looking a bit off kilter? This is another sign that you may have a problem. You may also have a problem if your floors are tilting or cracking and your windows aren’t opening smoothly anymore. These signs can give you enough of a warning to save your home some damage. It is always smart to call an expert to evaluate the situation of your home’s foundation.

Even More Responsibilities for Homeowners

Those who do not own homes have most likely never had to think about keeping a lateral sewage system operational. Many new homeowners make the mistake of ignoring their sewer system until an emergency happens. This can lead to serious damage and heavy repair costs. Following the proper steps to maintain and repair your lateral sewage line can save you tons of time, money, and energy. It could also save you from having to smell a backed up sewage line for an extended and unknown period of time. Homeowners are also responsible for keeping their lawn, garden, and otherwise externally visible property up to city code. Repairs to the actual structure of the home also fall under your responsibility. A company that will perform Houston foundation repair can send experts to look into any structural problem in your home.

His Hyrdroponic Tomatoes Are Doing So Good!

I blogged about how my husband converted our dog kennel into a greenhouse. He put his hydroponic systems in there to plant vegetables all year. He has 6 tomato plants in there right now that are doing really good! They were just about less 10 inches when he first put those tomatoes in there in his homemade hydroponic system and now, I can tell a big difference on how much they have thrived!

Anyway, below are a couple of pictures that I took the other day...

As you can see, the tomatoes are about 2 feet long now and they are starting to flowers too which means, it won't be long until we will be able to harvest fresh tomato fruits! And what's great about this hydroponic system is, as long as the tomato is alive, it will continue to bear fruits! If we can keep it alive till winter, we will have a supply of fresh and free tomatoes! That would be great, wouldn't it? :)

Handmade Father's Day Card

This year, me and the kids decided to make my husband a handmade 'Father's Day' card to show our appreciation and gratitude for everything that he do for us! It may not be much but we put a lot of work into it and fortunately, my husband is one of those people who appreciate things especially when it is handmade. I did buy him a little present from me and the kids to give for tomorrow! His "Father's Day" this year will be complete because his daughter will be coming up here from Florida to spend the summer with us and she will be arriving tomorrow! What a perfect timing it is!

Anyway, picture above is the front of the card. I know it's kinda hard to read it but this is what it says...

                                                                     F orever with his family
A lways there for you no matter what
T he only one who's there
H e's our hero till the end
E ncouraging in everything we do
R eally the only one...No one can beat him, he's the BEST

I got it off the internet, didn't say who the author is but I did make some changes on some of the words like the phrase "He's OUR hero till the end", originally it was "He's my hero till the end", and "Encouraging in everything WE do", it was "Encouraging in everything I do". I did it because I have two boys. I am sure you all understand why I am trying to say! Anyhow, below is what the inside looks like...

I wish I had more pictures, some recent ones but I didn't have time to print and those pictures are the only ones that I can find already printed! It looks cute though!

Filipino-Style Gizzards And Wings Barbecue

Gizzards and wings are two of my favorite parts of the chicken. I cannot eat chicken without wings, that's the first thing that goes to my plate. Everybody in this household knows that the wings are mine! LOL!

Anyway, I grilled these chicken wings and gizzards last week. I really miss eating those street food barbecues in the Philippines, so I thought I cook them just like it! :)

Sauteed Pak Choi

The Pak Choi or also known as baby Bok Choy or Chinese Cabbage in English, I harvested fresh from our garden yesterday! The great thing about having your own little garden at home is you can be sure of about it's freshness! I harvested it, then rinsed and removed all the dirt and everything and then I sauteed it in the pan as what my husband had requested. And yes you can definitely tell that it was freshly picked!

I wish we had more though but we only had 2 plants of this Pak Choi that did really well. It requires a cooler temperature and as what my husband told me, it is perfect to plant during fall and spring time. He started in on early spring but unfortunately we did not really have a spring weather, it went from winter to summer, so the Pak Choi and the Spinach that we planted started bolting! So my husband told me yesterday to harvest them all because they weren't gonna get bigger than the way they were! But we did enjoy it although it wasn't much!

Fresh From The Garden!

It is so nice to have your own little garden at home where you can harvest fresh produce and knows exactly where it came from and don't have to worry about what kind of chemical that has been sprayed on it. These spinach and strawberries in the picture above came straight and freshly harvested from our little garden yesterday. Although they're not much but it is worth it for its fresh taste you can definitely tell the difference from the ones you can buy at the store!

Sweet And Sour Pork Chop

First time I have fixed this 'Sweet And Sour Pork Chop' tonight. It was actually a last minute decision. I had a pack of pork chop thawed out since the other day and needed to be cooked. I did not want to have another fried or grilled pork chop again, so I search the internet for a simple pork chop recipe and came across the 'Sweet and Sour Pork Chop'. I've checked several simple recipes but the sweet and sour is the one that I really liked best and simplest one.

Anyway, the recipe is really good especially the sauce. The only thing that I would have changed is to season the pork chop first before frying it in the pan. You only have to cook it for about 30-35 minutes in the oven and it's not enough time to soak all the flavor into the pork chop, so it didn't have that much taste. So next time I'm making this, I'll make sure I'll season the pork chops!

Humba Or Pork Braised With Brown Sugar And Vinegar

Humba or pork braised with brown sugar and vinegar is one of those Filipino dishes that is hard for me not to make here in the US. It is one of the filipino foods that I was always accustomed to eating when there was an occasion over there. Not only this dish is yummy but also the ingredients are very simple which you can probably already find in stock in your kitchen.

I always make mine the way my mama make hers and that's put the pork first in a pot and the rest of the ingredients and those are the slice onions, crushed garlic, whole peppercorns, 2 or 3 bay leaves, brown sugar, soy sauce and vinegar. I let it all boil and get a chance to mix all the ingredients and then taste it and adjust the its taste according to my liking. For me, this dish is done when all the liquid is pretty much evaporated and the grease or oil gets separated on top from actual liquid!

Anyway, I made this dish the other day and it was by far the best one I have ever made yet. It almost tasted exactly like mama's, the only thing missing was banana blossoms! When I get a chance to go to the Asian store again that will be on the top of my list to get!
