I Miss Painting!

It has been 6 long years since the last time I did the last one. I don't even know if I still know how to do it. Well, I guess there's only one way to find out and that is to do one. But before I can even do that I need to buy more canvas and more oil-paint colors. I ran out some of the colors and I wonder if the ones that are left are still any good. Like I said, it has been 6 years, they may be dried out by now!

Anyway, let me tell you a little something how I got my interest into oil-painting. I always been into arts since I was still  nin the Philippines, but the art that I knew then was just like a simple drawing or water color painting, never heard of oil-painting before. Not until I came here in America. My husband used to watch this show called "The Best of Joy Of Painting With Bob Ross". He showed it to my one time and that's all it took for me to get hooked!

I tell you, this man was amazing! He can paint a whole picture in 30 minutes and that was the show was all about. He'll just paint there and talk at the same time, giving some tips as to what to do and things like that. I kept telling myself while watching him that I want to be just like him. So my husband really believed that I can do it. He bought me all the tools and materials to start doing one. Well I tell you, my first one took me 3 hours to finish! LOL! It was actually harder than it looks. Bob Ross was so good that he made it look so easy but when you're actually doing it, it's really not!

When I got done, boy am I glad! I thought I would never get finish! Hahaha! Well anyway, I actually painted 5 pictures, the first 4 were all inspired from Bob Ross' original paintings and I painted 1 original of my own which I gave away as a gift. I really hated that I did that, I should've kept my first original painting  but I can't take it back now. I will just have to buy more materials so I can paint another original painting. I am thinking of trying to sell it to my fellow Filipinos and see if they'll be interested!

My husband from very beginning has so much faith in me and keeps encouraging me to sell it but I kept refusing because I am no good yet. I just didn't have that much confidence yet but I'll have to see what will happen after I get back to it! Anyway, the painting above is the only painting is left and it's not even mine anymore. I gave it to my husband as an anniversary present one year. Oh he loved it!
