Building His Own Birdhouse

My mother-in-law bought my oldest son this birdhouse kit that she found and bought from Lowe's. It was such a neat little kit and very easy to make. Him and I had a good time building it. The only thing  you have to do is to put the pieces together and hammer it with nails, and the only tools that you need is a hammer. The nails are already provided with the kit. And it also comes with two suction cups to attach to the back of the birdhouse, so that you can hang it on the window where you will be able to see it from the inside of the house if ever a bird will build its nest in it...

Anyhow, here are pictures below of my son building his own birdhouse...after we built it, we hung it on our living room window outside, we will be able to see the bird and its nest from our living room. Looking really forward to that...

Busy hammering his birdhouse...

This was easy to build birdhouse....we hung it on our living room window outside, as you can see in the picture, the backside of the birdhouse is open, so we will be able to see the bird and its nest...

This Odong dish has been one of my favorite "pinobre" foods since I was just a child. It is one of the cheap meals that my mama can easily buy for a family 8. I am really glad that I am able to buy this noodle without having my family to send me a package from the Philippines, it is really expensive! Thanks to the internet and of course Facebook, I can just easily order it when I want it through other Filipinos.

Although we have an Asian store about an hour away from where we live, but they don't carry a lot of Filipino foods that I am used to eating when I was still in the Philippines like this Odong. But I am glad though that I am still able to get it even if I have to wait almost a week for it to come in the mail!

New Rose Bush Appears To Be Dead

Earlier today was the first time I got to check my new rose bush that I planted a week ago. I didn't know that we were going to have snow that night after I had replanted in the dirt. I feared that it won't be able to survive the freezing temperature. I did not really get to check it after the snow was melted. And then we had another snow just a couple of days ago and I was thinking of my rose bush that for sure it's not gonna survive with the second hit.

Sure enough, when I checked earlier today, it appears to be dead. The leaves looks like it is still frozen! Ughhh! I just hate that it happened. I was looking forward for its beautiful blooms. But I am not gonna dig it out yet, although it appears to be dead, it is still green, so as long as it's not turning brown and drying up, there is still hope for it!

Snow, Snow And More Snow!

Spring officially started a week ago and what do we have outside right now? A lot of snow pouring from the sky! There's probably at least about 2 inches right now and the way the snow is pouring, I don't think it will stop anytime soon. So I guess we will get that 7 inches that they said on the news yesterday after all! This is the second time it snow since Spring has started! It just makes me sick thinking about it. I am so fed up with this, I want the SPRING back!!!!!

Puto Cheese From Scratch

I made this dish of Puto Cheese a week ago and I think this is the best one I've made so far! I got the recipe from and of course I have to give credit to my friend for giving me the molds that I used to make it. It sure made a big difference when I used the correct molds. It was so much easier and quicker to make when using the right tools. Now I only need a real steamer. Maybe by the time I decide to make another of this, I will have the steamer bought that I saw at Walmart!

New Rose Is Planted!

I finally planted my new rose that my mother-in-law bought me a week ago. I planted it earlier today. It has been sitting inside the house for almost a week and I can see that it is starting to wilt. So I decided to plant it outside not knowing that it is supposed to snow tonight.

Sure enough, it is pouring snow outside right now! There's probably about half an inch out there now. It only started snowing an hour ago. My friend told me that it supposed to snow 7-12 inches! Yikes! That just doesn't sound right when Spring just officially started today!

Anyway, I just hope, my newly planted Rose bush outside will survive the snow tonight. I would really hate to see it die! :(

Tasks Are Scarce These Days!

I guess it just applies to me but I haven't gotten any decent tasks these past few weeks and it really sucks! (SIGH) I got lucky last week when I actually got 2 tasks from two different paid blogging sites. They weren't much but money is money and you won't be able to find money just laying out somewhere! Every penny counts these days so I am always thankful when there is a task that comes my way even if it's just worth 5 bucks!

But even that is so hard to come by these days! It's okay though, I have faith. I know it will get better, it always does. I just need to stay positive and just be patient!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a very nice day. It is such a nice day outside. I might just go out there and take my son outside and let him enjoy the beautiful day, so CIAO for now!

Filipino-Style Macaroni Salad

I made this Filipino-Style Macaroni Salad over a week ago. I had some leftover 'nata de coco' and 'kaong' from the last time that I made this which was around Christmas or it might have been New Year, I'm not really sure.

But anyway, I didn't want the 'nata de coco' and the 'kaong' to go to waste, so I decided to make some and I was craving for something sweet anyway. This was the best Macaroni salad I have ever made although I only have 5 ingredients in it which is the nata de coco, kaong and tiny slices of American cheese, condensed milk and nestle cream...

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Me and my boys had some Grilled Cheese Sandwiches for lunch. My oldest son is such a picky-eater that it is hard for me sometimes to find him something to eat. When I asked him earlier what he'd like for lunch, he just answered a simple "I don't know". So I asked him again if he would like me to make him some Grilled Cheese Sandwich, with no hesitation he immediately said "yes!".

I love it too so I made me and him one sandwich each. What I like about this sandwich aside from how easy and quick it is to fix it, it is just a very light meal but yet very satisfying! I can't get enough of the melted cheese! To me, cheese taste so much better when it's melted. I usually put two slices of American cheese when I make mine to make it extra cheesy!

Anyhow, this is how I make my Grilled Cheese Sandwich..My mother-in-law taught me how to make it..

Two pieces of bread. Spread both inside of the bread with a little bit of mayonnaise. Put two slices of American Cheese. Put together and spread outside of the bread on both sides with a little butter, then heat in the frying pan on both sides until brown or until cheese is melted and voila! Enjoy!

"Pink Peace" Rose Bush

So sweet of my mother-in-law for buying me this beautiful rose bush. She is one of the most generous person I have ever meet in my life. All it takes is for me to look at something and if she thinks that I want it, she will buy it for me no questions ask. Even if she'll ask me and I say no, she would still do it!

Anyway, I can't wait to plant it outside as soon as the weather warms up. This is the newest addition to my rose bushes. I probably have 7 rose bushes including this one. I already have pink one but when I saw this one at the grocery store, I can't help but admire it's shade and I love the name "Pink Peace"! I can't wait to see this one's bloom, hopefully it will look just like in the picture!

Can't Attend The Mass Tomorrow

As much as I hate not to attend the mass tomorrow, nothing really I can do about it since all of us here are sick! My husband got it now! He woke up this morning with his voice sound so different like mine did the other day! I hate being sick especially when my kids get sick too.

My two boys are literally coughing their butts off! All that infection are trying to come out. It looks and sounds horrible! And I am heading that way! Since yesterday I have been coughing uncontrollably. I can deal with it, I just so sorry for my two boys suffering! But the good thing, they're getting better!

Avocado Smoothie

I don't really know for sure if it's the right name for it, it's the closest term that I could think of. In Cebu, we call it "linamawng avocado", it is where you mix the avocado with evaporated milk and white sugar! I just love this! Anybody who has never tried this before should try it!

I also tried substituting evaporated milk with nestle cream when I ran out of evaporated milk and it tasted even better! It tasted like ice cream almost. If it wasn't for the texture of the avocado, it would have been an ice cream! When I make mine, I replace sugar with pure honey so that it will be much healthier!

As much as I would like to have this everyday, I just couldn't do so for avocados are very pricey. At our local grocery store, it's priced at $1.33 a piece, at Walmart $.99. I buy mine at Sam's club, they have it for $3.98 per pack and there are 5 pieces in each which would make about $.79 a piece, big difference from Walmart isn't it, considering they're the same company! But I'd say, it's probably different price in every state, you just got to check it out! :)

He's Doing So Well!

I just recently added this boy who used to be my neighbors when I was still living in the Philippines. He's about 4 or 5 years younger than me. Me and my siblings used to play with him and his siblings when we were young. Accepting him as a friend brought so much memories during my childhood days. It is sure nice to remember how it was back then. We had so much fun!

Anyway, I remembered when he was going to college,he was taking an accounting course and the last time that I heard about him was he successfully graduated in college and was looking for an accounting jobs abroad! And now that we are friends on Facebook, I can pretty much say that he is doing so well and a very successful accountant. I am just so happy for him. Now he don't have to worry about what his future will bring since he's got a very stable job!

Spaghetti And Meatballs Topped With Cheddar Cheese

The other night was the very first time I ever had a spaghetti and meatballs topped with shredded cheddar cheese. And I can tell you that it tasted pretty yummy! We usually put parmesan cheese on top but we ran out so my husband suggested to put the shredded cheese.

He told me that this was how they had spaghetti in their lunchroom when he was going to school. I wonder why he never told me before? Looking back at how many times we had spaghetti for dinner and we missed a much flavorful and yummier spaghetti, we could have enjoyed it long before now! LOL!

Anyhow, I guess we will have cheddar cheese on our spaghetti from this day forward! It really taste so much better. The cheddar cheese just give a much deeper flavor to the spaghetti sauce! It is really a must try!

Rejected Posts

My morning was really ruined when I got another email from one of the paying sites that I am a member to asking me to remove the paid post that I have written from over a week ago because of some wrong grammar issues. I don't claim to be fluent in English and I admit that my writing has a lot of wrong grammars but hey what do you expect? I wasn't born in America and I have seen a lot of people that were born and raised here that don't even have correct grammars!

Anyway, back to the topic, so this was the second email that I have received from them. The first one I received yesterday. It didn't really bother me much but after the second email earlier it just pissed me off big time! Those posts has been pending for over a week and I already considered them approved since I never had a post that got rejected when it's that long! But of course, nothing really I can do about it now. It just upsets me that I wasted my time for nothing and I don't understand why they waited this long to reject it anyway!
