Still Scared Of The Big Pool...

my oldest son playing at the playground before entering the pool...

one of his unsuccessful attempts to get in the pool, but atleast he tried to overcome his fear!

Last week, I took my kids together with my stepdaughter and her boyfriend to the community pool 15 minutes drive from where we live. That was my youngest son's first trip to the pool. I wasn't surprise at all that he really loved and enjoyed the water. I knew he would be basing on how he reacts when I give him a bath at home. He loves playing in the bath tub!

On the other hand, what surprised me was, my oldest son was still very scared to get in the big pool. I thought for sure that he's gotten over it the way he was hounding me about going to the pool. And even on our way there, he was talking so big that he's not scared to get in the water anymore. Well the truth came out once we arrived at the pool. As soon as they changed to their swimsuits, he immediately went to the kiddy pool where his brother was and told us that he is just fine there.

We kept encouraging and pursuing him to get in the big pool that his sister and her bf will take care of him, he just wouldn't do it. We kinda got irritable about it. I mean he tried many times to get in but as soon as he reached the bottom step of the pool, he immediately gets out. Finally I told my stepdaughter and her bf to not to worry about it anymore. I mean you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink as what the saying goes. I am definitely not gonna force my son if he's not ready yet, one day he'll get over his fear and will do it on his own!
