Homemade Taho

Freshly made homemade taho from last night. Well, it's gone now, I ate the rest just few minutes ago! I can eat this everyday if I only I won't run out of ingredients. I have been making taho since 2008, that's when hubby figured out how to do it for me. It is really simple how to make it. You just use silken tofu that you buy at the grocery store, tapioca pearls which you can also get at the grocery store as well as asian store but I prefer the ones at the asian store because they are much bigger than at the grocery store and then thickened brown sugar water or what we refer in the Philippines "latik". That's all you need to make homemade taho!

When I started making taho in 2008, my tapioca pearl or sago were just plain or clear transparent color. I never really thought of coloring it and then some of my firnds on facebook started making taho and they used colored sago that they bought at the asian store. Unfortunately I couldn't find ones that are already colored so I figured out how to color it myself by using food coloring! All I do after I cook my tapioca pearls (sago) I divide them depends how many color I want, last night I only used yellow, red and green but I mixed the yellow and red so it turned orange. So there's my homemade taho, I thought my sago turned out it to be so gwapaaa! lol
