"She needs more practice..." what the examiner at the DMV told me and my husband. I mentioned on my last post that I was going to try out for the road test this week. We went yesterday, unfortunately I did not pass! The examiner told me that I was jamming the break too much and not turning my signal ahead of's because I was so nervous! Anyway, I'm not upset at all that I did not pass, I can try again next week, I just got to practice more. I sure don't wanna get my DL and the risk would be in a bad car wreck, killed myself, the baby and other people (GOD forbid!), just because I did not have enough driving skill. Just to be honest, if I combine the time that I have been practicing within two years, including the three 2 hour lessons at the driving school, it's not even a weeks worth of practice and they were so far off from each other. So I really need to practice more and try my luck again next time!

Road Test!

We were gonna go to the DMV today to try for the road test but we changed it for tomorrow morning. Evidently, DMV changed their schedule again, they used to only do the road test after 4pm but now you can go there whatever time as long as you can bet the line. They close at 11 in the morning and open back at 1pm and then close at 4pm. When I called there this morning, the women told me that I can come anytime. I've been to the DMV 4 times so I know for a fact that there is already a long line this morning, so that's why we decided to just go tomorrow.

I'm telling you what, I'm extremely nervous, that's not even the word for it. It will be my first time tomorrow to try for the road test. I just hope that I practice enough to pass the test! I'm crossing my fingers here! Wish me luck!

Baby got a booboo!

My 5 year old son came home today from school with a knot and a bruise on his forehead. He said, a little girl hit him with a plastic baseball bat while they were playing at the playground. We asked him if the girl did it in purpose or it was just an accident, his response made us to believe that it was an accident. But he was complaining that the girl did not apologize to him even though the teacher told her to. I had a feeling that the little girl was terrified that she hurt someone unintentionally and was too afraid to say anything. Anyway, the picture below is my son and his booboo...poor fellow!

Too lazy!

I don't know what it is, but I've been too lazy lately. I haven't done anything at all. All I wanna do is sleep all day. No wonder I'm gaining too much weight, I haven't been moving around. So many things I need to do, like cleaning this house and mowing and weeding the yard. It looks horrible, weeds are up to my knees now. I'd be so embarrass if a surprise visitor comes over and see our yard but I'm just too lazy to get out there and trim it, especially when it's still scorching hot out there! The heat weakens me easily! But it's not a good excuse, if I really wanna do something, I could clean the house, our furniture and appliances have been collecting dusts for about a week now. I really got to clean this house tomorrow and try to force myself to go outside and tend our yard. It sucks when you're the only one that has to do it! What a life!

So tired and sleepy!

We just got back from Walmart after going to my prenatal appointment earlier and I feel so tired and sleepy for just that little trip that we did. I think that little driving that I did starting from our house to the clinic wore me out. I'm glad that my hubby let me drive that far, I proved to him earlier that the driving lessons that I was taking was worth it even though it's a little expensive, he was actually very relaxed and pleased that I am getting so much better on my driving. Just a little more practice and then I'll be able to try out for the road test. I have an upcoming driving lesson this coming September 1st, hopefully I'll be able to go to the DMV and try to get my license and cancel that appointment because I really don't want to spend a hundred more dollars for another lesson. If hubby will just be a little bit more patient, this whole driving thing will be over soon!

Anyway, I'm going to lay down and take a little nap before my son comes home from school. I hope you all have a wonderful sunny Tuesday!

Alcohol Ink Candles!

I made these two candles last night for our upcoming Christmas Bazaar Sale this coming December for our Women's Guild at Church. I know it's a little early but we are trying to come up with craft ideas to make ahead of time so we will have plenty to sell and we don't have to rush making them like we did last year. My mother-in-law was actually the one who found this craft idea on Michael's website. We went to Michael's and bought the stuff to make these alcohol ink candles. They are so much fun and easy to make. I thought they turned out pretty good. The candles are actually much prettier in person than in the picture. I would really love to make one to display in our house, but it's not gonna be a Christmas design, that way I can display it all season! I'm so looking forward to show these to other Guild members, I'm sure they'll like this idea!

That dreaded call...

Every time I get a phone call from my family in the Philippines especially very early in the morning scares me. The only time they call and wake us early in the morning is when there is some kind of emergency. So earlier this morning, at around 8, they rang the phone and I knew that there was something going on there. I was so afraid to call them back for I fear something has happened to my papa. He's been terribly sick and has been in and out of the hospital.

Anyway, even though I was so scared to call back, I did not have any choice but to dial the number and see what's going on. I talked to my sister and rest assured there was some kind of a family tragedy. My sister told me that my uncle, my mama's younger brother had passed away just yesterday due to a heart attack. Although I was a little relieved that it wasn't my dad but still, I'm very deeply saddened about the news. I can't believe my uncle is gone, he is just in his early 50's. They were just talking on the phone with him, he was so excited about my mama going to Masbate to visit them and suddenly the call got disconnected. He was having a heart attack while he was talking to them. Oh I just can't imagine what my mama is feeling right now. I feel so bad that I can't comfort her and my uncle's family! How I wish I am there with them right now!!!!

Poor Baby!

My poor baby seemed sick. I noticed that when he came to our bedroom this morning, he's been sniffling. I thought it was just an allergy, but when we got up to get ready for his school, I made him blew his nose and there was a greenish mucus mixture. I don't know if it's sinus infection or if he's getting a flu. We have not taken him to get his flu shot this year, if he's got the flu it will be too late to get it. I don't particularly let him go anywhere if he's sick but I'm not sure he's got the flu or not. I just gave him some medicine to make his nose stop running.
Anyways, when I was taking him to the bus stop he told me that he didn't feel too good. I feel really sorry for him. If he don't feel better by tomorrow, I guess I won't have any other choice but to just let him stay home and call the school. As a parent, that's the very last thing you wanna see is when your child is sick!

Helping my daughter develop her personal style

Guest post written by Hannah Steihm

One of the things that I've taught my daughter is to be proud of who she is. I think that she's growing into a wonderful and bright young woman. She could just use a little bit of help with her style. I remember how awkward it can be when you're 14 or 15 and your body is changing. So I promised my daughter that before she went back to school this year, we would find some flattering clothes that she'll love.
She thought that was a great idea and really appreciated it. So we've spent the past couple of weeks looking online to find some great clothing basics, but ordered them in time for her to try them on and return them if needed before her classes start. While we were looking through some shopping sites together a few weeks ago, I ran across the site After I looked through it a little bit, I decided to change our home internet service to it.
We scored some pretty good deals and found some jeans that look so adorable on her! Now we're both happy that she's going to have a polished school style that will help highlight her personality and confidence.

Gabriel James... what we had chosen to name baby boy #2. Although it wasn't my first choice, my stepdaughter has her heart set on that first name, so I thought I will give her the honor to name one of her brothers and everybody seems to like the name.

Anyway, there's Gabriel James when he was just 21 weeks in my tummy taken over a month ago during my ultrasound. Now I am in my 26 weeks of pregnancy, so he's probably a little bigger than that now. I am just so excited to see him in person and embrace him in my arms. I could not hardly wait for that very moment!

She's finally home...

My stepdaughter is finally back to Florida. We took her to the airport this morning. I feel so bad for my son, hubby and in-law for they just hated seeing her go! Although we did not go anywhere this year, she seemed like she enjoyed her visit this time. Hopefully next year, we will be able to go somewhere to make her summer more enjoyable and unforgettable! She'll be back again in 3 months for Thanksgiving. It will be a triple celebration by that time...Thanksgiving, her coming back and the birth of the new baby. Anyhow, the pictures below were taken while she was staying here for summer this year.

First day of School..

Today is my son's first day of school. I can tell he was a little nervous, when he woke up this morning, he asked me if he could just go to school next year. I thought he'd pitch a big fit if I force him to get ready but after explaining it to him and giving him some encouraging words he got so excited again. We took him to school this morning and he did really good, we will be picking him up in a little while, I can't wait for him to get home and listen to everything that he did at school. So proud of him!

School starts in 2 days!

It's really hard for me to believe that I now have a kindergarten student. He will be starting school in 2 days. Time does fly fast indeed. I will be missing him. He'll be gone from 8 am to 3 pm. He has never been away from us that long except for when he spends the night over at his nana's house. Me and my husband talked before that we were gonna home school him but we changed our mind about it because he does need to interact and learn how to socialize and communicate with other kids. He don't get to play with other kids that much especially where we live, there are no kids nearby. The only time he get to play with other kids is when we go to church and that's pretty much it. I'm really glad that he's really looking forward to go to school!

Crappy Yard!

It's been a month since the last time I mowed and weeded our yard. As bad as it is, I just do not have the strength to do it. So you can imagine how our yard looks right now. Plus, I am still traumatized from when I got stung by 5 yellow jackets. I love summer but I can't wait for the fall to come so I don't have to worry about our yard anymore and I'm getting tired of the heat anyway. If only my son is old enough to do it for me! Grrrrrr!

Comfortable Jeans...

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express. All opinions are 100% mine.

When I was in my teen years, the only jeans that I loved wearing wereAdvertisementflare jeans. For some reason, I liked how they looked on me and how comfortably they felt. It was not until I came to America that I started liking different styles of jeans like skinny jeans and boot cuts. The only jeans that you can find in my closet now are skinny jeans, but unfortunately I'm not able to wear them, probably for about a year since I'm 6 months pregnant right now. I usually wear a junior size jean but since I'm bigger than usual I'm currently using  women's jeans to wear until I give birth.

Anyhow, the picture above is a jean legging from Express jeans. It's one of the jeans that fits and feels comfortably with this big belly of mine, plus it's very trendy. You don't really have to sacrifice being fashionable while you're pregnant, just click the provided link and you will see different styles of jeans from boot cut to flare and they even comes in different colors! And an addition, click Express giveaway  for a chance to win a free jeans!
