Nikon D3100 VS Sony Alpha NEX-5k

I am trying to save up some money so I can get me one of the DSLR camera before I give birth to my second child this coming November. My first pick was originally the Sony Alpha NEX-5k, one of the things that I really like about this particular Dslr is, it's almost half the size and weight compare to a regular Dslr. I like the idea that I don't have to carry extra bag whenever I want to take it with me. I've been doing a lot of research about it, looking and reading a lot of reviews, some are bad, some are good, but what made me hesitate to settle for this one is the picture quality. I've seen some of the pictures it took and I couldn't say that it takes a high quality crispy clear pictures as the regular dslr! So that's my drawback about this one.

Anyhow, I have been doing some research what's the best starter dslr camera to buy and top of the list is the Nikon D3100, it's actually cheaper than the Alpha NEX-5k, they have the same megapixel. I haven't done a lot of research about the Nikon D3100 and I don't really know much about dslr cameras, what features to look for, but what I'm after is the high quality pictures where you can capture every details of the subject. Anyway, I still got plenty of time to do research on Nikon and a lot of savings to do coz I'm not even half way there! LOL! Hopefully I can make it before I pop this baby out! :( Wish me luck!

Fresh from the garden!

The other day, we finally had our first harvest from our garden this year! The picture above is a mixture of Romaine Lettuce and Spinach freshly harvested from our garden! It wasn't much but enough to feed a family of three! And still got some growing for the next time we want some fresh salads! There's nothing better than a freshly harvested veggies straight from your garden! And it taste much better than the ones that you can buy from the store. You are so certain that they are safe to eat and not worrying what kind of chemical was sprayed on them since we grew it our self!

Today, we are gonna plant our Tomatoes and some other vegetables in the garden, now that we are certain it's not gonna get cold anymore. They can finally grow big and hopefully it will give us lots of fruits! We started our veggies from seeds, they've been growing in a little pot, and it's about time to transplant them! Our banana pepper is starting to bud already, and it's still in a little pot! Some of the veggies that we started from seeds this year are Brandywine and Roma Tomatoes, Banana Peppers, Filipino Okra, Filipino hot pepper, Lettuce, Spinach, Radish, and Potato. We still have to plant some corn when we can figure out the best place to to put them.

I'm planning on planting some water spinach, my hubby was growing them inside the house before through Hydroponics and it did really well, but we had to stop it because we were running out of space in the house. So this year I'm gonna try to plant them outside in the container, and when winter comes I can just easily take it inside and put it in our indoor greenhouse which my hubby purchased two weeks ago.

Ahhhh, I'm so excited for our veggies to grow well and big! I can wait to eat them! Hopefully they will give us enough fruit for us to harvest this year!

4 dayssss...

Gosh, I can't believe I have not posted anything here for 4 days. I only have 2 blogs but it seems like I am having hard time keeping up with them! The way I have been feeling lately, there is no way I can keep updating this blog! It's already hard enough dealing with my nausea, which by the way not as bad as it was. I mean before I use to throw up about 3 times a day, now it's only every other day, so that's an improvement. I'm not even taking prescription pill anymore.
The doctor gave me a new prescription 2 weeks ago for my nausea since the that last prescription I started taking expired 5 years ago. But I had to stop taking it the other day because it was making my blood pressure elevated. So I'm not even gonna ask the doctor to give me another prescription, if this is how my pregnancy goes, so be it! I will see my reward in the end and it will be all worth it!

Anyway, I'll do my best to keep updating this blog as well as my other one. Even though, I'm not getting anymore opportunities, I still wanna keep this around for personal use. That's what I made this for in the first place, hopefully I'll feel good enough soon to make some crafts and post it here. Well, I hope you guys have a great weekend!

He's ready for school!

The video above is of my son doing his reading update. This was taken about 5 months ago. He learned how to read when he was just 3 years old. I am so proud of him for learning so fast considering he just turned 5 this month, of course it wasn't easy, but I had to admit that he was a fast learner. I actually taught him the hard way, instead of teaching him how to read the 3 easy words, I was teaching him the first grade books or maybe more advance! Even though it was little hard at first, but it definitely paid off!

He's gonna start kindergarten this August, I'm pretty sure he'll do good at school, he'll be less person for his teacher to worry about. I also taught him how to spell some words, he memorized all the ABC's before he even turned 3 and now he can count up to 100! Right now, I'm taking his reading to the next level, he's reading this book of Dr. Seuss titled "Green Eggs and Ham", he can read the whole book now by himself but there are still some words that's hard for him to remember but he's getting there! I'll be taking video of him as soon as he perfect it! I am just so proud of my boy!

From Yellow to Red!

Would you believe me if I tell you that the red roses in the picture above use to be a yellow roses? I am not kidding! For five years that rose bush has been blooming pretty yellow roses and this year, well you can see it's red! Is that even possible? That's what I was thinking too! Evidently, it is possible based on what I have researched online. Ok, this is the best possible reason why it turned from yellow to red, this makes really good sense to me.

Based on my researched online, the rose bush could have been grafted with two different roses, yellow and red. Ok, this rose bush died on me last winter, I dug up the root, I was gonna plant another rose in it's place but I changed my mind, instead I replanted the root back hoping it will come back and it did. So what happened was, the yellow rose grafted with the red rose died and when the rose bush came back, only the red rose survived and that's why the blooms are now red. I don't know if it make sense to you all but it does make sense to me!

My lovely pink Columbine!

The picture above is one of my columbine plants that are growing in my garden right now, this pink one is the prettiest one of them all, well you can see why, it looks like a bouquet, or at least I think so! As of now, this is the main attraction in my flower garden right now besides my Azaleas which is in the other side of the yard. My other flowering plants are still struggling to bud because of the sudden change of weather we've been having these past weeks. I can't wait till summer when all my flowerings plants blooms especially my Dahlias and Roses, oh how I love plants!

Mother's Day Greetings!

M - O - T - H - E - R

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

Unpredictable weather!

It's crazy how the weather can change abruptly, all week we had a very warm weather almost in the 90's and suddenly it went down to the 30's (maong samut jud ko kabuang ani). I do not like it at all, I am so ready for summer! I know it get's really hot in the summer but I can tolerate it better than the cold weather since I spent 18 years of my life living in a tropical country. At least you can still go out when it's hot and there are so many ways to cool yourself down by going to the beach or public pools or just do it in your own backyard using a inflatable pool. I am really looking forward for the weather to warm up again so my son can use one of the present he got for his birthday which is a waterslide, I'm sure he would love it! Anyway, I wanna thank everyone, if any, that still checking up on this blog. I really don't have that much to say lately, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Birthday Banner...

I just got done making this birthday banner for my son and in-law's birthday celebration tomorrow. My son already saw this banner and he just keep praising me of how good it looks. He is so sweet! I know this is not much but I'm sure my mother-in-law will appreciate this, she always does and my son already showed me how much he appreciated me making this banner.  I made a big mistake though making this banner right on our kitchen floor, I was using sharpie to make the lettering and I forgot that the color goes through the paper and of course when I got done when I pulled the banner, there was the stain on the floor that says "Happy Birthday David & Mom" just like what you can see on the banner. I spent over 30 minutes cleaning up the freaking floor, I managed to get some of if off but the remaining stain is still visible, ughhhh, I just hate it, it looks awful!! And this means more work for me when I get home! I had to use acetone to even get most of the stain, but it seems like the rest is not coming off! Grrrrrrr! Well, I'm gonna worry about it when we get back from our errands for today, it's gonna be a long day for me and hubby!

Big, pretty purple blooms...

Don't you think the flowers in the picture above are gorgeous? I think so too! Unfortunately, I do not know what name of it is, I would love to know the name of this beautiful plant. I saw this at Olive Garden last week when me and hubby celebrated our anniversary over there, this was the very first thing that caught our attention when we pulled in their parking lot, it's very eye-catching because of it's big blooms, it's very pretty in person, and besides that, they have the loveliest Azaleas over there too. I've got about 5 Azaleas at home but they're not as nearly as pretty like the ones they have at Olive Garden, but of course, I'm sure they have their own professional gardener that takes good care of their plants, but I'm happy with mine though, they're blooming right now too. Anyway, if anybody of you who knows the name of this plant, please kindly leave me a comment, I would really love to have one of this beauties in my garden. I would appreciate it so much!
