6 years and looking forward for more years...

On April 27, 2005 at 8:30 am to be exact, my plane landed from LAX to Asheville Airport. From there, my hubby (fiance at that time) was waiting for me and that's when I started my life here in America, that was 6 years ago. It's not only the day that I set foot in American soil, but it's also the day me and hubby took our vows to start our life's journey together. So today, we will be celebrating our 6th year wedding anniversary as well. I'm looking forward to celebrate more anniversaries with him for the next 20 years or more if God allows it. I wouldn't say that our journey together as a married couple has been been perfect and smooth because it wasn't, we had our ups and downs but we managed to worked it our together, and that's why we are still here and will be celebrating it later. We all know that every journey is not always a smooth ride, there's always a rocky road to pass by, and if you stumble upon it, you just don't lay there and give up, you got to be proactive! This doesn't only apply to a married life but to all life's journey whichever you choose to take. Anyhow, back to where we were, we don't have any special plans, but we decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants and celebrate it there. It has been a while since we've been there and I'm so excited to taste their food again! Well, I'm gonna get off here and try to straighten out here before we leave, have a good Wednesday y'all!

Egg Hunting!

My son had such a blast today, he received 3 different Easter Baskets from the Easter bunny, plus he had so much fun egg hunting. Even though we did not go to any special place to egg hunt, he pretty much enjoyed doing it in our own yard. I hid about 16 eggs all over the yard, he enjoyed hunting each one of them, he did pretty good for his first time. He spotted them right away, of course, I was helping a little bit too...it was so much fun for me to watch him, I'll definitely do it again next year, I like it better doing it in our own backyard, I know for a fact that he's safe and he don't have any competitions..LOL! Anyway, the pictures below was taken earlier while he was egg hunting...

first Easter Basket, was left by the Easter Bunny in the front porch...

he spotted his first egg...

I think he was telling me that he's needing a bigger basket to fit all that eggs...

Second and Third Easter Basket left out in my mother-in-law's front and back porch...

Happy Easter!

Greetings to all my special friends who stops by and take their precious time to peek on this blog! I appreciate your time and I hope you have a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Steve Carell

Guest post of the week by Robby Sykes

Steve Carell isn't the funniest actor around. In fact, I think being around him in person would be rather awkward. He'd probably tell a bunch of lame jokes in an attempt to live up to being a comedian and awkward silence would ensue. But those awkward moments, while horrible to actually live out, are funny when viewed from a third person perspective. The way he can produce these awkward producing moments with such regularity is part of what has made him so successful.
That's probably why he was perfect in The 40 Year Old Virgin. The way he acted out the role, it was entirely believable that this man was a virgin at age 40. After seeing the movie, I decided to check out his television show, The Office, via satellite TV from TVbyDirect.com. It did not disappoint. Playing Michael Scott, the branch manager, Carell produced awkward moment after awkward moment as a man desperate for both friendship and love. There were times when it was admittedly hard to watch, but if you stuck with it, you always got either a heartfelt or laugh out loud moment. I'm afraid to see what the show will become when Carell leaves. While I have yet to catch any of his movies since Evan Almighty bombed, I am looking forward to when movies like Dinner for Schmucks, Despicable Me and Date Night begin airing on television.

Bananas, Tangerines and Apples..

are the only fruits that I love eating right now. I mean I love them before I got pregnant, but I love them more now, especially the banana, it just taste so good in my mouth. Some of the foods that I used to love eating before I got pregnant like Slim Jim, I used to could eat a whole pack of that (it has 16 individual pieces in a pack) in just two days, but now I still got a whole pack sitting and waiting to be eaten, I just do not care for it that much anymore, it's crazy how the taste bud changes when you're pregnant. But I'm glad that I'm liking much healthier foods rather than eating junks. This is gonna be a healthy baby, hopefully. I think I'm 9 weeks now, not sure, but last night and earlier, I think I felt the baby, it was just a little vibration that I felt inside me. My baby is getting big! The picture below is what the baby look like right now.

the baby is about 50mm in size...

Poor little Eggs!

Wow, it has been 3 days since the last time I posted an entry on here. There is really nothing interesting for me to post here, I would probably just complain about the way I'm feeling like I'm doing right now, but before that will go any farther I better change the topic. LOL! Anyway, I went outside earlier after I got so tired of just laying on the couch taking a nap, wanted to get some fresh air and do my usual things like checking my garden. About a week ago, I noticed that one of my birdhouses has some bird's nest in it, we've been having some bad storm and strong wind these past few days, I noticed the other day that one of my birdhouses fell off but I just did not think anything about it until earlier, when I saw it on the ground, I remembered that there was a bird's nest in it, I immediately picked it up and started pulling out the nest to see if the eggs are fine, some of them are already cracked and broken but there are two that are still fine. I did not wanna just leave it out there, that would be so cruel for me to do, so what I did is brought the two eggs inside the house and put it under the light like an incubation. My hubby kept telling me that the eggs maybe dead already but I told him I'll try maybe they are still okay, so I will wait a few days and see if they'll survive. The eggs appears to be from a Chickadee Bird if I'm not mistaken. The mother bird has abandoned these eggs because they have been laying on the ground for 3 or 4 days now, anyway the picture below is the snapshot that I took earlier...don't you think they're cute??

Danielle Alexandra or Alessandra..

..is what I've chosen to name my baby if it's a girl..., if it's a boy, it would still be Daniel, but I haven't thought about what the middle name will be. Before I even found out I was pregnant, my mind is already set for that name. I have a couple of reasons why I chose that name, first, I want my first one and second one to have the same initials, my son's full name is David Alexander, David which is in the bible and means "Beloved" and Alexander means "Defender of Mankind", that's based on what I researched online. So, Danielle is a female version of Daniel, we all know that name is in the bible, the lion story and all of that, anyway, the name means "God is my Judge", and Alexandra or Alessandra have basically the same meaning as Alexander. So, I might go with Danielle Alessandra, it sounds and looks more modern than Alexandra. All I got to do now is to wait if this baby is a girl, if it's not, well, I guess I have to find a middle name for Daniel that starts with A, I still have plenty of time to do it. I'm getting anxious everyday, 2 more months and I will know my baby's gender!

finally....

I finally feel decent enough to do some cleaning around this house, although I was only doing the minor chores such as dusting, mopping and washing the laundry, this house already looks pretty decent enough to not to worry about a surprise visitor coming. There are still a lot of chores needs to be done around here but I'm not gonna worry about it right now, I can only do a little bit at a time for I get really exhausted easily. This pregnancy is really taking it's toll on me physically. Hopefully, once I enter my second trimester, everything will change. This is completely different from my previous pregnancy,  I mean there is some similarity like the vomiting, but the only problem I had on my first one was, I was still nauseated until 7 months, other than that, everything was perfect. This time, not only I'm having problems with vomiting but my cervix is just painful too! It's really hard to move around! But of course, I am still in my early stage, maybe everything will change as I move into the second trimester! Sorry all I do is complain, but this is really hard, sometimes it's much easier to let it out rather than just keeping it all to yourself.  Anyhow, I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather we're having right now, I know I will! Have a good week!

7 weeks of my pregnancy!

I just wanted to post on here how far along I am of my pregnancy. I am now about 7 weeks and hopefully everything will continue on smoothly. The photo below is of me, 7 weeks pregnant, you can already see a little bulge starting to show a bit, this was taken just this morning right before church. Sorry for not so friendly face. LOL!

Craving for something....

..and I don't know what the heck it is. My mouth can almost taste it but I just couldn't point my finger to it. Maybe, when me and hubby go to the store later, and see what they got there, hopefully, I would know what it is. I know it is some kind of meat. Ughhh...it's really hard being pregnant, everyday I want something different to eat, most cravings that I'm having so far are for filipino foods. The only foods that I have eaten these past weeks that are not filipino are pickles, olives, cheddar cheese and baby carrots, it's not because I'm craving them, but because it's the easiest foods I can put in my mouth when I get hungry, they are just some of the American foods that I really love and enjoy eating. This is the sort of things that a pregnant woman has to endure, it's not fun sometimes. But the reward in the end is worth all of it!

Good for now...

I think I maybe done planting all the plants that needs to be planted this week. The only thing left for me to do is to spread mulches around my garden but I'm not gonna rush on that, I will do that in a couple of weeks for I am just so exhausted from yesterday's yard work. Not only I tend my garden, but also my in-law's, she likes for me to plant her plants for she thinks that I have a green thumb and the plants will grow good and comes back for sure. It is kinda flattering though, I don't mind helping my mother-in-law at all, God knows how much she helped me and she still does, not only me but also my family in the Philippines, I feel so lucky and blessed to have a mother-in-law like her, we don't have an in-law relationship but like a real mother-daughter relationship. She has told me before that I am the daughter that she didn't have, how sweet and nice of her! That's why I always try to help her as much as possible to show how appreciative I am for every little thing she does for me, and I know she feels the same way, sometimes she will offer me some money for all the works that I do for her but I don't dare take it coz I would not feel right taking money from her, there might have been a couple of times that I accepted money from her, but it's not because I wanted to, but because she forced me to take it and she was getting really upset, LOL! Anyhow, she already paid me enough for taking good care of me and my family all these years! I am lucky indeed!

so miserable!

I really love the fact that I am pregnant and I'm gonna be holding another baby in my arms in less than 7 months from now, but what I don't like though, is having to throw up every time I get up and starts putting something in my mouth! Ughhhh....that's the part that I hate so bad. I just hope that when I enter my second trimester I won't be puking my guts out like this. That's one of the reason I haven't been updating my blogs for the past few days because I just don't feel right, I mean there are times that I feel really good but it's only about 20% of the day and 80% is misery! Anyhow, I'm really excited to see the baby, but first, I'm so excited to know the gender, there is a part of me that's wishing it's a girl, I would be liar if I deny that, because to tell you all the truth I am hoping that it's gonna be a girl, but like I said before whatever God has plan for me, I'm just so thankful whatever it is as long as it's a healthy baby. Well, I just wanted to post this on here and I hope you're enjoying the sunny but chilly weather!

3 days...

I didn't realize until today that I haven't posted anything on here for 3 days. I don't really have anything to post, no opportunities coming, nobody is even visiting my blogs, plus I have been puking my guts out lately, I just hate it! I have been feeling really bad! I can't wait for all this pregnancy symptoms to go away. That's another reason why I haven't put anything on here, all I want to do is lay down and go to sleep. It really sucks feeling this way but what can I do about it, it's part of being pregnant. Well, I just wanted to stop by and give thanks to whoever take a minute to peek on this blog! I appreciate it! Hope you all have a wonderful weekdays!

It tasted so good!!!

I have been craving for one of my native dishes for about a week now, and I finally had the chance to get some Tilapia at Walmart today. When I got home I immediately made that filipino food that I have been craving so bad, we call it "inun-unan or paksiw" in the Philippines, I paired it with plain white rice and oh men, it tasted so good, I wouldn't trade it for some gourmet food they have here in America. It tasted just like my mama used to make it, love the green onions in it, garlic, salt, vinegar, and I added Jalapeno pieces in it too, to give it a little spice, and the good part is, I still have some leftover for me to eat the next day, if it wasn't for my stomach bulging right now from being full, I would still love to eat more, because my mouth is wanting some more. It's a good thing I still had enough room to squeezed in the fresh fruit salad (filipino style) with sweetened condensed milk and nestle cream that I made earlier. Now, my stomach is about to explode, but those simple foods sure made my night!
